Why can’t I send USDT from Wraith Wallet?

Problem: USDT transaction failed

You may have added USDT to your Wraith Wallet on a network such as TRON (TRC-20). When you try to send it, you might see an “Insufficient XXX” error.

It’s natural to assume that USDT itself covers the fee, but that’s not the case. Each blockchain requires its native coin to pay for network fees. For example:

TRON requires TRX

Ethereum requires ETH

TON requires TON

This is one of the most common issues new users encounter, but it’s easy to fix.

Resolution: how to fix it

1. Check your wallet for the native coin

Open Wraith Wallet and check your assets list

For TRC-20 USDT, make sure you have TRX added

If you don’t see it, tap Manage tokens and enable TRX

2. Get some of the native coin

If your balance is zero, add a small amount of the blockchain’s native token:

Buy: Tap Buy in Wraith Wallet and purchase the coin (e.g., TRX, ETH, or TON)

Receive: Tap Receive to display your address and transfer the coin in from an exchange or another wallet

3. Try sending USDT again

Go back to your USDT wallet

Tap Send, enter the recipient’s address and amount

Confirm the transaction - this time Wraith Wallet will deduct the fee from the native coin, not your USDT

Prevention tips

Always keep a small amount of the network’s main coin in your wallet to cover fees

Think of it like fuel: the main coin powers all token transactions on that blockchain

Example: sending USDT on TON requires some TON in your wallet for gas
