What is WalletConnect?

WalletConnect is an open protocol that allows your Wraith Wallet to connect securely to decentralised applications (dApps) on your desktop or mobile browser.

Instead of entering private keys or seed phrases, WalletConnect uses encrypted QR codes or deep links to establish a secure connection.

How it works

You visit a dApp (e.g. a decentralised exchange) on your computer or phone.

The dApp presents a WalletConnect QR code or link.

In Wraith Wallet, you select Connect with WalletConnect.

You scan the QR code (or click the link on mobile).

An encrypted session is created between the dApp and your wallet.

This allows the dApp to request transaction approvals, which you confirm directly in Wraith Wallet.

Why WalletConnect matters

Secure - your private keys never leave your wallet.

Convenient - no need to type long addresses manually.

Cross-device - browse dApps on your computer while approving on your phone.

Universal - supported by thousands of dApps across multiple blockchains.

Using WalletConnect safely

Only connect to dApps you trust.

Always verify the transaction details shown in Wraith Wallet before confirming.

Disconnect sessions you no longer use to reduce risk.

Key points to remember

WalletConnect is a secure bridge between your wallet and dApps.

You scan a QR code or link to start the connection.

Your private keys stay safe in Wraith Wallet - they are never shared with the dApp.
