What is a naming service?

A naming service replaces long blockchain addresses with easy-to-read names. Instead of sending funds to something like 0x3f28...9a2c, you can send them to a name such as alice.eth or bob.sol.

Why naming services exist

Simplify transactions - human-readable names reduce errors.

Consistency - the same name can often be used across dApps and wallets.

Identity - names can serve as a form of Web3 username.

Ethereum Name Service (ENS) - names ending in .eth.

Solana Name Service (SNS) - names ending in .sol.

Unstoppable Domains - names ending in .crypto, .wallet, .x, and others.

Each naming service is tied to a specific blockchain or provider.

How naming works in Wraith Wallet

You can send assets directly to supported names instead of raw addresses.

The wallet automatically resolves the name into the correct blockchain address.

Not all blockchains support naming services - check compatibility first.

Risks and considerations

Ownership - blockchain names are NFTs; if you lose access, you lose the name.

Expiration - some services (like ENS) require renewal.

Compatibility - only works with apps and wallets that support the naming service.

Key points to remember

Naming services make crypto addresses human-readable.

Wraith Wallet supports ENS, SNS, and other major providers.

Always verify that the resolved address is correct before sending funds.
