Understanding staking status
Staking involves several states that indicate where your tokens are in the process. Knowing these helps you plan your liquidity and rewards.
Activeβ
Your tokens are currently staked with a validator and earning rewards. You can usually claim rewards at any time, subject to network rules.
Unstaking pendingβ
You have requested to unstake. Your tokens are in a cooldown period called the unbonding period. During this time:
Tokens do not earn rewards.
Tokens cannot be transferred or traded.
The length of the period depends on the blockchain.
Important: Unbonding is enforced by the network, not by Wraith Wallet.
Availableβ
The unbonding period has finished and your tokens are now liquid again. You can transfer, swap, or restake them.
Slashed (rare)β
On some networks, if a validator misbehaves, a small portion of stake may be slashed. Choosing reputable validators reduces this risk.
Viewing status in Wraith Walletβ
The staking panel shows the current status for each position.
If you initiate an unstake, the app shows the estimated time remaining.
Key points to rememberβ
Active earns rewards.
Unstaking pending is locked and not earning.
Available means liquid again.
Slashing risk exists on some networks, so choose validators carefully.
