Monad Testnet (MON)

Monad is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain designed to deliver scalability, Ethereum compatibility, and low fees. As of March 2025, Monad is live on its testnet, providing developers and early adopters with the opportunity to explore its technology.

Key features of Monadโ€‹

EVM compatibility - Monad works seamlessly with Ethereum smart contracts, tooling, and dApps. Developers can deploy existing contracts with minimal changes.

Parallel execution - Unlike Ethereum, Monad can execute multiple transactions simultaneously, boosting throughput.

Custom consensus (MonadBFT) - Monad uses its own consensus mechanism to achieve 1-second block times.

High scalability - The testnet aims to process up to 10,000 transactions per second (TPS).

Low fees - Transactions are inexpensive compared to Ethereum, making it cost-effective for developers and users.

โš ๏ธ On testnet, fees are paid with testnet MON, which has no monetary value and is distributed through faucets.

Monad on Wraith Walletโ€‹

Wraith Wallet currently supports Monad Testnet with the following features:

Store MON securely.

Send and receive MON tokens.

Swap MON natively.

Connect to Monad dApps using WalletConnect.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Future mainnet: It is expected that Monad will launch with a native token (likely MON) used for gas and staking.

ERC20 tokens on Monadโ€‹

Monad supports ERC20 tokens, issued and deployed within the Monad ecosystem.

They maintain full compatibility with Ethereumโ€™s ERC20 standard.

Transactions are cheaper and faster than on Ethereum mainnet.

How to get Monad (MON)โ€‹

Here are ways to acquire MON testnet tokens:

Request free tokens from the official Monad faucet.

Receive MON using your unique Monad address in Wraith Wallet.

Buy MON directly on Wraith Wallet once mainnet goes live (coming soon).

โš ๏ธ Only send MON testnet tokens to Monad addresses - other assets are not supported.

Transaction feesโ€‹

Fees on Monad are designed to stay low, even during peak network activity.

Costs are dynamically adjusted depending on demand and transaction complexity.

On testnet, all fees are paid in testnet MON.

How to check MON balanceโ€‹

Open Wraith Wallet and tap the three dots in the top right corner.

Select View address on Monad Explorer.

Your balance and transactions will be displayed on the block explorer.

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: You can also visit Monad Explorer directly and paste your MON address to view activity.

Why choose Wraith Wallet for Monadโ€‹

Seamless EVM compatibility - deploy and interact with smart contracts instantly.

Self-custody security - retain full control of your private keys and funds.

Multi-chain support - manage assets across Ethereum, Monad, and other chains all in one app.

Conclusion Monad Testnet is a powerful preview of the blockchainโ€™s capabilities, offering speed, scalability, and developer-friendly features. With Wraith Wallet, you can test Monad today and prepare for its full mainnet launch.
