How to add and activate an XRP asset on Wraith Wallet

What are XRP assets?

The XRP Ledger allows anyone to issue custom assets (also called β€œtokens”) directly on-chain. These can represent:

Stablecoins

Utility tokens

Project-specific or community assets

Other digital instruments

Unlike blockchains that rely on smart contracts, XRP uses its native trust line system to handle tokens, making asset transfers fast and efficient.

Adding and enabling assets in Wraith Wallet

Go to Manage Tokens at the bottom of the wallet screen (or use the toggle in the top-right corner).

Tap the filter icon, select Networks, and choose XRP.

Browse or search for available tokens, then slide the toggle to enable one (e.g. RLUSD, a stablecoin on XRP).

βœ… Once toggled, the asset will appear in your wallet.

Adding a custom XRP token

If the token isn’t listed:

Tap the + icon.

Set the network to XRP.

Enter the issuer address and confirm.

⚠️ Important: Anyone can issue a token on the XRP Ledger. Always verify the issuer address before adding it to avoid fake or malicious assets.

Activating an XRP asset

Enabling the token isn’t enough - you must also activate it by creating a trust line:

After enabling a token, tap the Activate Asset prompt.

Confirm the transaction.

Once confirmed, your wallet can now receive, hold, and send that token.

πŸ‘‰ Example: Enabling RLUSD will show your normal XRP receive address, but you can now accept RLUSD into the same wallet.

Why activation is required

Prevents spam tokens from being forced into your wallet.

Ensures ledger efficiency by requiring a small reserve for each trust line.

Provides security by making you explicitly opt in before receiving a token.

If an asset isn’t activated, token transfers to your wallet will fail.

Key notes

Assets on XRP are identified by their issuer address + currency code.

Trust lines are mandatory before you can hold an asset.

Issuers may freeze tokens depending on their setup.

Summary Wraith Wallet makes it simple to add and activate XRP assets while staying fully compliant with the XRP Ledger’s trust line system. You control which tokens you accept, protecting your wallet from spam and keeping your account clean.
